# Error Codes

eSign API 3.3 groups error codes by category.

## Handling guidance

| Situation               | Recommended handling                                                            |
| ----------------------- | ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| `113` user timeout      | Mark as expired; start a new transaction with a new `txn` if the user retries.  |
| `206` on some documents | Treat those documents as unsigned; others in the same response may be signed.   |
| `302` on status check   | Verify `txn` and `aspId`; the transaction may not have been accepted.           |
| `104` / `107`           | Check the ASP signing certificate mapping and XML canonicalisation.             |
| `114`                   | Signer entered wrong credentials; the account may lock after repeated failures. |
