# Validation Tool Overview

The **eMudhra Digital Signature Validation Tool (DSV)** verifies electronic and digital signatures on documents you receive, and produces a clear validation report. It is available as a web tool, a REST API for system integration, and a deployable component for on-premises use.

## What it supports

| Input | Signature types |
| ---------------- | --------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| PDF | PKCS#7 / PAdES (B, T, LT, LTA), multiple and certification signatures |
| XML | XMLDSig / XAdES (enveloped, enveloping, detached) |
| Any file | Detached CMS / PKCS#7 (`.p7s`) with original content |
| Signature + hash | Raw CMS verification against a supplied hash |

Signatures from eSign (v2, v3, Remote Key Storage), DSC tokens, Remote Signing Document Signer certificates and other CAs under the Root CA of India (RCAI) can be validated. Foreign trust lists (e.g., AATL, EU Trusted Lists) can be configured.
