# Validation API Overview

REST API to validate signatures on PDF, XML and CMS / PKCS#7 data.

## Operations (summary)

| Operation                   | Purpose                                                |
| --------------------------- | ------------------------------------------------------ |
| Validate document           | Upload a signed file → per-signature status and report |
| Validate detached signature | `.p7s` + original content, or CMS + hash               |
| Download report             | Signed PDF / JSON validation report                    |

## Result statuses

| Status          | Meaning                                                                            |
| --------------- | ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| `VALID`         | Integrity, chain, validity, revocation and timestamp checks passed                 |
| `INVALID`       | Document modified, bad signature, or certificate revoked / expired at signing time |
| `INDETERMINATE` | Could not be confirmed — e.g. unknown root or missing revocation data              |
